Sunlight poured from the heavens, keeping us warm in the late afternoon despite the time of year. The sparsely occupied roads were perfect for getting acquainted with my little two-wheeled friend, and offered the space I needed to make my own serpentine route along the avenues. Setting out to discover all that the East End had to offer, we rode up and down narrow streets displaying beautiful views of the Ojai valley, while taking in the delightful fragrance of lush citrus groves.
My entire body was invigorated by the fresh air, the thrill of the wind in my hair, and occasional bug in my teeth—I just couldn’t stop smiling. Tides of freedom, joy, and peace washed over me as I rode on without a care in the world nor a thought besides that of the enthralling beauty surrounding us.
As way led on to way, a chill began to penetrate my thin layers, gently signaling that this jaunt was drawing to a close. We started for home as I gazed up at the wisps of clouds drifting freely through the sky, giving thanks for these moments in which I could live as they.
